Any infos abt GLOBE WIRELESS frequencies??? Just curios to know IF and HOW the system is in use...

Globe wireless isn't on HF anymore. They dropped it last summer. There might be one or two left but I'm not sure about that.

As I understand it , they aren't as much out of business as they just quit HF & went entirely to satellite. I don't know if the inmarsat deal changes that. I wouldn't think it does.

Tnx for infos... This service sounded to me a bit "outmoded"... My job [ partially] has to do with GMDSS comms but on ships I've never seen nothing, recently, about this service. Maybe they are *purchased* and closed by INMARSAT.

Yes, they have ceased HF operations. However, a bunch of their channel markers are still active, and have remained so all along. Since they continue to run their HF channel markers it kind of seems to me like they do not want to give up HF ops entirely, and might hold hopes of bringing some kind of HF service back out. Regardless, there has not been true traffic on their HF freqs for many months now.
